FAHManager
Note: FAHManager is still available and supported, but another program, nFoldMan, is a newer generation of this service, with more capabilities. You might like to investigate nFoldMan too.
FAHManager is a simple program that controls and displays the status of one or two Mac OS X command-line (console mode) processes running Stanford's Folding@Home distributed computing client for protein folding. |

This will work only on Mac OS X, with the console-mode (not the graphic) client. It's been tested only on Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar) and 10.3 (Panther). 10.3 is the fully supported version. As of release 1.4, the program functions on 10.2 as well, with some small changes in the user interface.
Note that FAHManager controls the client processes (start, stop, pause, and auto-start) as well as monitoring them. This means it can't be used with processes that you don't start (e.g. if you auto-start your processes at root level from a "StartupItems" script) or for processes on a different machine. For a monitor-only program that can be used with any process, see FAHMonitor.
For a screen saver that can assist in starting this, or any, application at idle times, see AppStartSaver.
