Monitor "n" Folding Processes

nFoldMan is a successor to FAHManager and FAHMonitor, and generalizes the monitoring of folding processes to enable tracking any number of them on this machine, a file-shared machine, or a remote machine over the network. Remote processes can be located for monitoring using Rendezvous. Local processes can be controlled and remote processes may be controllable if they permit it.

This will work only on Mac OS X version 1.3 (Panther) and higher, with the console-mode (not the graphic) Folding@Home client.

The nFoldMan program has extensive help via the Help menu. You can preview the help online by clicking here.

For a screen saver that can assist in starting this, or any, application at idle times, see AppStartSaver.

For a unix command-level process that allows you to monitor folding on a machine without having a Mac application running, see nFoldMonOnly.

Version history:

1.12

1.11

More changes for 10.4 compatibility. Rendezvous publishing wasn't working under certain circumstances -- fixed. Again, no functional changes, and not needed unless on 10.4.

1.10

Fixed to be compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger beta release. No visible functional changes -- you don't need this unless you are running 10.4.

1.09

Internal changes getting ready for OS X 10.4 (not completely ready yet); and some minor grammatical & visual changes to the user interface.

1.08

Correctly display a due date in the new year for a unit started this year. (The UnitInfo file doesn't contain year, so we have to guess).

1.07

Removed some noise from console log -- debugging statements left in during a previous release. No functional changes.

1.06

Structural changes to support nFoldMonOnly, and minor bug fixes. The noticable one repairs error in stopping process that was started due to idle computer.

1.05

Handles settings and log changes of new Stanford fah5 client.

1.04

Handles the new location of user and team statistics at the Stanford site, so the Statistics menu items will work again.

1.03

Minor upgrade: Fixes bug in settings menu for Rendezvous network browser; Improves window snapping.

1.02

Queries system processes in a different way, which allows it to monitor processes not owned by the logged in user (e.g. by root).

1.01

Sigh. Includes some images missing from help files in 1.0.
